Marriage

So I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and it got me thinking. I believe marriage is a beautiful thing even though my parents got divorced years ago. Marriage is two people that believe they can tolerate each other for the rest of their lives and have children together and just be together forever because they truly love each other. So me being a single 19 year old, I asked my younger sister if she thought I should be looking for someone to date and eventually get married because I'm going to be 20 soon. She said yes. Well I don't think I have to sign up for match.com or anything or even go out more to find someone, but she did. I asked her why she thought that way and she told me that because society expects women to be married and have children before 35. I laughed at her and moved on with our day but now that I'm just sitting here writing this it really bothers me that she thinks that way. Yes women has the clock ticking to have kids but shouldn't finding the right man come first. I mean we shouldn't just marry the first guy that proposes because we're afraid of not being able to have kids. Marrying a person is not a joke you should completely love him and be willing to live the rest of your life with him. Society shouldn't matter to you. You make your own choices and who and when you get married is not up to society, it's up to you. Heck, society thinks a 72 hour marriage is okay but it's not.
